Microgaming more than just slots - mental health initiative kick starts in the UK!

Microgaming have a big initiative when it comes to volunteering and charity They create some fantastic slot games, but they are much more than that. Microgaming have been working very closely with The Lisa Lowe Center which is a company focusing on promoting mental health throughout the Isle of Man. They run workshops and various different day courses which help in giving mental health the attention it needs, along with several other methods. As part of Microgaming, their employer pledge ‘Time to Change’ is a campaign which aims to end mental health discrimination within the workplace and any other way. They outlined a series of commitments by the company which aim in creating a happier, healthier, and discrimination-free environment and this is done by introducing fully trained mental health aiders and raising as much awareness as possible, whenever possible.

Microgaming are continuously looking to improve and strengthen their pledge, and by working with the Lisa Lowe Center they will be running workshops with the help of the center to allow managers to recognise the various different signs and symptoms of mental health issues and in addition provide them with the practical strategies to support their team members and colleagues. The thing is though, mental health is not just about recognising the symptoms and having the practical strategies needed, so Microgaming will also focus on what the common stressors are, learning coping tools, and have the aim to erase the stigma surrounding mental health.

Microgaming made a fantastic £6,000 donation to the Lisa Lowe Center in order to help their ongoing work throughout the Isle of Man, and we think this is so wonderful that a casino company is taking the initiative to give their employees the best work space as they possibly can. Gareth Nicholson from the Lisa Lowe Center said a few words about the new partnership “ We are pleased to see local companies recognising that supporting the mental health of their employees is as important as the usual physical health support, as one supports the other. As a charity working to increase our remit in this area we are delighted to be working with Microgaming who are also at the forefront in recognising the need to change”.
