Who remembers that very exciting and anticipated moment of when slots
specialists Microgaming unveiled their plans to us of opening a brand new and swanky office? The design and whole look of this place was surreal and so modern. It does not seem like it was 1 year ago since Microgaming opened the doors of their new office Sixty Two, and yet somehow one whole year has passed us by and Microgaming is celebrating their first year at this new location and building. Microgaming would not celebrate this exciting day in any old fashion, they didn’t just have a party with funky music, a big cake and some party hats, oh no. What they decided to do to commemorate this special day was by burying a Microgaming time capsule underneath the entrance of Sixty Two.
This time capsule will be opened in 30 years when they celebrate once again and it will contain unique mementos curated from suggestions by the Microgaming staff to commemorate significant events for the company. As with any time capsule it will be vacuum sealed and treated in order to avoid any sort of tarnishing and damage to the goods inside. As well as the time capsule containing suggestions and other knick knacks, it will also contain a series of photographs which will showcase the companies highlights and moments in which they are most proud of such as staff volunteer days, award ceremonies, group photos, when the building first opened back in 2017, and of course a nod to the Microgaming PlayItForward initiative by adding in a volunteer’s shirt in honour of the companies CSR initiative. Lastly, Microgaming decided to add into the capsule some local and international articles from the past year including when their building Sixty Two was named in a list of the coolest offices of 2017. These are all true moments that can be remembered and treasured forever and make perfect items to keep in the Microgaming time capsule.
In 30 years time most probably on the 1st of August again it will be time to open the Microgaming time capsule. Who knows whether there will be the very same people working at the company, or if everything has changed. One thing will definitely remain the same though and that is the memories encased in that time capsule. The CEO of Microgaming John Coleman said a few words about celebrating Sixy Two’s first year and burying the time capsule: “It is incredibly important for us to mark our first year at Sixty Two. This time capsule captures a snapshot of our campus, our staff and the amazing culture we have fostered here on the Isle of Man for future generations to look back on. Most importantly, this moment serves as a reminder to our future selves of our unique heritage and the people who have made this building more than just a place to work – it is truly a campus to be proud of.” It probably won’t seem long until we are here again in 30 years opening up the time capsule. It will be interesting to look back and see what sort of casino games
were released in 2018, and what games are released and being released in 30 years time. Our guess is that things will be a lot different by the way technology is progressing these days!
