New slot release from NetEnt Fairytale Legends: Hansel & Gretel

Do you remember that glorious news last year, more precisely 6 months ago when NetEnt had just released their brand new casino slot ‘Fairytale Legends:Red Riding Hood’? NetEnt has done it again by releasing a sequel to the Red Riding Hood slot game called Fairytale Legends: Hansel & Gretel. Now, I don’t want to go ahead and say that this game is better than the prequel, but I do believe that it is definitely just as good. The Fairytale Legends: Red Riding Hood slot was a big hit in many of the best casinos in the UK, and it did also include brilliant features within the game, so knowing all of this, it gave me a great amount of anticipation wondering what to expect from the sequel.

The vivid graphics and ultra smooth gameplay give us as players a great feeling, and it just makes us want to continue playing, so good going NetEnt, you get plus points for that.

The story of Hansel and Gretel

If you are not so familiar with the Hansel and Gretel story then let me give you a little bit of backstory about it, it is an old tale or fairy tale if you prefer, which was recorded by the Brothers Grimm, and has been published since 1812. That is a super long time! The story is about a brother and a sister who are the children of a poor woodcutter, there is a great famine that occurs over the land so the stepmother of the children decides to abandon Hansel and Gretel in the woods because they always ate too much.

The children then wandered into the woods and found what appeared to be a beautiful cottage made completely out of candy and gingerbread. This of course was very intriguing to Hansel and Gretel so they began to eat some of the candy house. This ended up being a big mistake because inside this cottage lived an evil witch who was a cannibal, she kidnapped Hansel and Gretel with the intention to eat them…(yes this is a fairytale, trust me). The children then fooled the witch and ended up throwing her into the oven instead of them, and that is how they escaped.

Definitely a grim story, I suppose the authors lived up to their name ‘The Brothers Grimm’

The Fairytale Legends: Hansel & Gretel video slot does not have such a grim appearance compared to other online slots, it is more enchanting and magical. The symbols are made to look like candy, and the bonus features, along with the random features are most definitely fun and fairytale like as they include a candy house, fairies and beautiful white birds. It seems to be just a snippet of the real tale of Hansel and Gretel, but I feel like it is for the better!
