New casino game: can Conan salvage a poor year for NetEnt?

The new branded NetEnt game Conan, based on the legendary Barbarian, is out! And it definitely deserves a couple of spins. It is the second branded game of the year for NetEnt, following the release Narcos back in May 2019.

Compared to the spring release this is an even more violent story with three free spins features, multiple multipliers and gameplay that brings the 2016 release Warlords: Crystals of Power to mind graphically. Narcos was, in all honesty, something of a disappointment with little going for it, but Conan looks promising - expect a full review in the coming days or better yet, try it yourself.

NetEnt seems to be slowly clawing their way back up from a period of rather uninspiring titles. They might have thought themselves somewhat untouchable, dominating online casino lobbies for years, but smaller, hungrier, studios have popped up from left and right to challenge the big names – and done so very successfully. One of these studios that has risen fast among players at UK casino sites is Red Tiger which, with games like Pirates Plenty and their ‘Must Drop Jackpots’, has become immensely popular.

NetEnt buys 100% of Red Tiger - a deal worth £220 million

Earlier this month NetEnt announced that they had bought Red Tiger. The price tag was a hefty £197 million and a potential £23 million more payable in 2022, given Red Tiger hits some financial targets set out in the deal.

We look forward to see what kind of improvements this can mean for both companies, especially NetEnt which we as mentioned might have become a bit complacent recently. If the Red Tiger can infuse some well needed energy remains to be seen.
