Review of Robin of Sherwood

Take a stroll into the forest of Robin of Sherwood and live out your inner archer. The Robin of Sherwood slot game was created by the slot magicians going by the name of Microgaming. It is based on the very well known legend of Robin Hood, and as soon as you enter the game you will notice the true feel of the forest with birds singing, and that royal sounding music to go along with it.

As you look at your surroundings you will notice that it is set in no other than the perfect depiction of what we would expect from a slot game based on Robin Hood. You will notice trees, leaves falling, and of course the Sheriff of Nottingham’s castle in the background. In a way this game can remind us of their very popular slot game Castle Builder and Castle Builder II, despite the obvious differences the symbols and castle theme can create some familiarity.

Playing Robin of Sherwood on mobile and desktop casinos

The Robin of Sherwood slot game has the usual layout of 5 reels with various different symbols. Microgaming has given us plenty of ways to win, 243 to be exact! As soon as you start playing, you automatically play with all 243 paylines, however you are able to select your stake.

The stake will then be multiplied by a fixed multiplier of 20 which will determine your total bet per spin. Selecting your stake is very simple, all you will need to do is use the left and right arrows on the ‘Stake’ tab at the bottom of the game to the left.

The minimum bet in which you can make is £0.20, and the maximum amount in which you can bet is £40, so this isn’t the slot game where you will be spending hundreds per spin, this is definitely more of a laid back and low roller slot game. Robin of Sherwood can be played on mobile casinos and on casino online, Microgaming has made sure that we can play on the go if needed.

Wild Turning Feature

The Wild Turning feature is a randomly triggered special feature in the game, meaning there are no symbols in which you must earn on your reels to make it trigger, it will just happen when it happens! If you are one of the lucky ones and trigger the Wild Turning feature then all of the Royal symbols meaning the Jack, Queen, King and the Ace in which you have on 1 or more reels will be converted into Wild symbols.

The Wild symbol is the perfect symbol for them to be changed into since Wilds can replace any other symbol in the game to complete a winning combination, with the exception of Free Spin and Scatter symbols.

The Wild Turning feature can be triggered during the same time as the Free Spins feature

However in most cases the Wild Turning feature will always begin first, but then again who knows what can happen in Robin’s Woods!

Free Spin Scatter Symbol

The Free Spin Scatter symbols are represented by an arrow target with the words Free Spins on the symbol. If you manage to receive 3 or more of these symbols during your game then you will earn an amazing 10 Free Spins! It does not matter where the placement of these symbols are, just as long as there are 3 or more on your reels.

The Free Spins in which you receive are not re-triggering, and you cannot win additional Free Spins during your given spins. If the Wild Turning feature is activated during the same spin as the Free Spins, then the Turning feature will be the one which is activated first!

Royal Clearing Feature

You can increase your winning streak with the Royal Clearing feature. For such a royal and prestige sounding feature you would expect quite a lot, but this feature is actually pretty short, but very sweet.

The Royal Clearing feature will trigger on every second spin during the Free Spins feature

What it does is to remove the lowest remaining Royal Symbols present on your reels for example the Queen, King, Jack and Ace giving you a better winning potential because who wants those nuisance symbols on the reels anyway!

Gamble Game

You will be able to notice that on the very bottom of your games grid on the right side there is a tab which says Gamble. This tab is specifically used for the Robin of Sherwood Gamble Game. You may already be familiar with the Gamble feature in some other slot games from Microgaming, and will give us players the chance to double our win, or lose it all!

The layout of the Robin of Sherwood Gamble Game is set out on two targets, one is green, and one is red

How it works is that you select your target, and if the arrow hits that target you will double your initial win, but if you miss it, then you will unfortunately lose all of your bet. This feature is very fun though as it gives players a sense of anticipation and butterflies, and the best part about it is that you can play with your in-game winnings until the gamble limit is reached which is 5 gambles per win!
