Review of Wild Toro
Wild Toro is a slot from the well loved casino games developer, Elk Studios. In this slot you will make the acquaintance of the evil Captain Diaz’ son, the sneaky Diaz Jr. Captain Diaz was one of the main characters in the slot Taco Brothers which definitely has some similarities to Wild Toro in terms of theme and in-game attributes.
Based on this information that we have on Captain Diaz, we deduce that we are in the one and only Mexico. It isn’t unlikely that many would frown upon a slot that seems to celebrate bullfighting. But fear not, Elk Studios was of course very aware that this could be a taboo subject and theme, this isn't a bullfighting slot game, but more of a bull getting his own back slot game. The Matador, sneaky Diaz Jr. gets his butt kicked over the reels by the stylish and strong looking bull alias Toro - which of course means bull in spanish.
The slot was released to the gaming market in November 2016 and became extremely popular very quickly.
It features some amazing graphics that we have become accustomed to on games from Elk Studios. The symbols are big, colourful and very detailed. Wild Toro has some very exciting in-game features and is filled with bonus games which is fantastic because with just one spin, your whole game could turn into big wins. It really has that entertaining element, combined with the exterior aesthetic. The slot has good dynamics and speed and the music isn’t tiresome or too noisy which you easily could have expected on a slot with this theme.

How to play Wild Toro
Wild Toro is played over five reels, and four rows. Pretty standard layout in those terms, however the exciting part is that it offers 178 winning combinations. Before you say anything, yes, that is an odd number, but then again the paylines aren’t what you would usually expect to see either. There are some really fantastic symbols throughout this game, such as an orange loosely peeled with a sword in the middle.. we know... strange.
Along with a traditional purple and gold fan, the infamously sneaky Diaz Jr, the wild toro, and many more. Elk has made sure that the symbols represent the theme and features of the game extremely well, and we really appreciate this because it just makes us want to play even more than we do already!
Wild Toro Online Slot
Walking Wild Feature
This is a very fun feature in Wild Toro, if you manage to land on the Toro Wild symbol on reel 5 then you will trigger the Walking Wild feature. When this is triggered the toro will move reel to reel from the right to the left and so on, and for every move he makes this will give the player one extra respin. The Walking Wild feature will continue until the wild toro reaches reel 1 and all of the bonus feature winnings have been accumulated.
Toro Goes Wild
When the Toro Goes Wild mode is triggered, well folks, this is where things get very interesting. You will trigger this feature when the Matador lands on any position during the Toro Walking Wild feature which we talked about above. During this feature, the toro is so enraged that it kicks the Matador (sneaky Diaz Jr) off the reels completely, and you are rewarded with a trail of Wilds ready for the next Respin.
One thing about this feature is that it is possible for the Matador to block your winning combinations if he appears alone and without a Toro on one or more of the other reels.
The Matador can only land on reels 2, 3 and 4 so watch out!
Matador Respin Challenge
The Matador Respin Challenge feature can be played when you win with 3 matadors on the 3 middle reels during the same spin. These symbols will become Sticky during this feature which will give you 1 respin each!
With this feature it becomes a lot easier to trigger the Toro Goes Wild Bonus game because of the Sticky symbols you will probably end up having a lot more matadors landing during the respins. This feature will end when there are no more respins, or if the Toro ends up destroying and defeating all of the matadors.
Bonus and Re-Spins
Toro Goes Wild mode is the bonus game in this slot and it is released when the Toro Goes Wild symbol lands on reel 5. If a Matador does not land on the reel in front of it, it will just move ahead from right to left until it eventually disappears off the reels completely.
Should, however a Matador appear on the reel in front of Toro the bull, it turns completely mad and attacks, first vertically, then horizontally to headbutt the Matador off the reels. At this point it doesn’t matter whether the Matador is to the left or to the right of the bull. As it moves over the reels it leaves a trail of wilds.
What an exciting slot right?
Wild Toro Strategies
The Wild Toro slot game is also different from other slots in the way that you can choose different betting strategies. There five betting strategies since not choosing a strategy will set it to the default of traditional betting strategy, which technically, is a betting strategy too.
- The second option is one called Optimizer. The Optimizer would be fitting for the high rollers, as the bet level will change automatically and adapt to a preselected percentage of your balance. You can set the bets to 1, 2, 5 or up to 10% of your balance - This is not for the faint hearted.
- The next level is called the Leveller, and this raises the bet 2 levels if you have experienced 5 consecutive losses.
- The Booster strategy will raise your bet 1 level after a loss, until it reaches a maximum of 4 levels over your initial bet.
- Lastly, we have the Jumper strategy that will raise your bet 1 level after every winning spin, up till it reaches a maximum of 4 levels above your initial bet.
